Colonials Down Siena, 2-1, for Second Straight Win

Box Score LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - The Robert Morris University field hockey team picked up its second consecutive overtime win Friday knocking off conference rival Siena, 2-1.

Alicia Straining (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin) scored the game-winning goal with just 58 second remaining in overtime to send the Colonials to their second consecutive win. After a scoreless first half, Robert Morris fell behind after Olivia Whelly netted a goal 10:28 into the second frame.

The Colonials battled back to tie the score at one with a goal from Julie Spierckel (Kraainem, Belgium /  BPS) at the 55:52 mark of the game. Stephanie Seeley (Louisville, Ky. / Ballard) posted three saves to send Robert Morris to its second two-game winning-streak of the season. The Colonials enter the season having never won consecutive games in school history.

Robert Morris returns to action Sunday at noon with the Colonials travel to Smithfield, Rhode Island to take on conference rival Bryant.
