Scared Heart Slips Past Robert Morris, 1-0

Box Score MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. - The Robert Morris University field hockey team fell Friday afternoon to Sacred Heart, 1-0, in Joe Walton Stadium.

Lindsay Kasten scored with just 10:01 remaining in the second half to give Sacred Heart a lead it would not surrender. Robert Morris generated solid second half pressure and earned eight penalty corners in the second frame, but it was not enough to crack the Pioneers defense.

The Colonials controlled the pressure in the first half firing off six shots but only getting one on net. Robert Morris goalkeeper Stephanie Seeley (Louisville, Ky. / Ballard) made two first half saves and one second half stop but it was not enough for the Colonials to knock off the Pioneers. Kim Stow, the Pioneers goalie, made a total of five stops on the day and came into the game leading the nations in saves per game.

Robert Morris returns to action at noon Sunday when the Colonials play host to conference rival Quinnipiac at Joe Walton Stadium. Robert Morris will honor seniors Seeley and Catherine Myrick (Twin Valley, Pa. / Twin Valley) as part of the team's annual senior day.
