Ithaca N.Y. - After falling by just a lone goal Friday night, the Robert Morris University women's hockey team had a tougher time with top-ranked Cornell Saturday afternoon as the Colonials dropped a 9-1 decision at Lynah Rink.

In spite of the loss, senior forward Sara O'Malley (Guelph, Ontario / Hamilton Hawks) had a memorable day for the Colonials. Her assist at the 17:47 mark of the third period was her 75th career point, which matches the all-time career mark in RMU history. For the moment, O'Malley and former Colonial Kristen Miles will share the distinction of being the school's all-time leader in points. O'Malley is also just one goal shy of tying Miles' school record in that category as well. The assist also gave O'Malley a four-game point streak and puts her tied for second on RMU with eight points.

Sophomore Dayna Newsom (Oakville, Ontario / Oakville Ice) kept her recent strong play going as she recorded the goal on O'Malley's assist. Newsom extends her career-best point streak to four consecutive games, tallying seven points in those four contests. She now leads the team with nine points and is just three points shy of her point total from last season through only eight games this season.

Cornell tallied at least two goals in every period and converted on four power-play opportunities to remain undefeated on the season. Jessica Campbell led the Big Red with four scores for the afternoon while Rebecca Johnston added three points on a goal and two assists.

Freshman Thea Imbrogno (Etobicoke, Ontario / Mississauga Jr. Chiefs) collected an assist for Robert Morris for the second straight day and is now tied with Newsom for the team lead with six helpers on the season.

Robert Morris will meet another nationally-ranked team on the road next weekend as the Colonials open College Hockey America play at No. 3 / 4 Mercyhurst next Friday, Oct. 29.
