Beck Named NEC Co-Player of the Week

Moon Township, Pa. - April 19, 2010 - Senior Alana Beck (Carle Place, N.Y. / Old Dominion) concluded her career at Robert Morris University by being named Northeast Conference Co-Player of the Week after leading the Colonials to wins over Bryant and Central Conn. State. This marks her second NEC honor of the season.

Beck finished the week with 11 goals and three assists for 14 points. She also added 10 draw controls, six ground balls and four caused turnovers in RMU's two wins. She started off her strong week with four goals, two assists, four draws, three caused turnovers and two groundballs in RMU 13-11 win over the Bulldogs. On Sunday, she set an RMU single-game record by scoring seven goals in the Colonials' 15-14 victory against the Blue Devils. Beck came to life in the second half scoring five of RMU's eight goals. After getting down by three goals, Beck scored RMU's next four goals to bring the score back to even at 12-12, which led to the eventual win. Beck ranks third in the league with 2.87 goals per game and finished the season with 43 goals, which is second in the RMU single-season record books.

The Colonials finished the 2010 season with a 7-8 overall record and a 5-4 league mark.
