University men's golf team ended its 2011 fall campaign with a 14th-place
finish at the Dayton Flyer Fall Invitational Tuesday. The Colonials won two
tournaments this fall, continuing the team's recent run of success.
Junior Brock Pompeani (Aliquippa, Pa. / Hopewell) led the
RMU team at Dayton this week, posting a second round 74, three-over par at the
7,055-yard par-71 at the difficult NCR Country Club course. He opened the event
with a 78 to finish 28th with a 152 total.
Freshman Bo Lustig (Belle Vernon, Pa. / Belle Vernon)
finished with a total of 155 in 18 holes of play, shooting rounds of 77 and 78
to tie for 42nd. Junior Brandon Pompeani (Aliquippa, Pa. / Hopewell) matched
those numbers and placement as he carded a 155.
Freshman Ryan Prokay (Grove City, Pa. / Grove City) shot
a 164 to finish 164 with his matching totals of 82 in the first and second
round. Junior Donny Lewis (Wexford, Pa. / North Allegheny) opened with an 88,
recovering six strokes to shoot an 82 Tuesday putting him 90th with a 170
total.
