Rider Hands Robert Morris Loss

Oct. 23, 2011 The Robert Morris field hockey team fell 8-0 to Rider on Sunday afternoon in the team's final road contest of the season.

The Colonials (8-11 overall, 2-4 NEC) struggled to mount an offense against the Broncos – putting just four shots on goal to Rider's 22. The Broncos (15-1, 6-0) notched their 11th-straight win on Sunday to clinch at least a share of the conference's regular season title.

Freshman goalie Erin McKenzie (Lismore, Australia / University of Queensland Tech) stopped 13 of the 20 shots she faced in 48:07 minutes of work. Junior goalie Paige Neat (Louisville, Ky. / Christian Acadmey) closed out the game in net for the Colonials, making one save and allowing one goal against. Rebecca Lotito picked up the win for Rider, making three saves in just under 60 minutes of playing time. Rachel Sload finished the game in goal, making one save.

Robert Morris rounds out the 2011 season next Sunday with a 12 p.m. ET contest at home against Monmouth.
