Moon Township, Pa. - The Robert Morris University women's tennis slipped to 0-3 overall on the 2010-11 campaign Sunday afternoon with an 8-1 setback to Carnege Mellon at Club 4 Life in Monroeville.

Leading the Colonials was freshman Carolina Mourao Teixeira (Rio De Janerio, Brazil), who picked up a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Maddie Rabson at the No. 4 singles flight.

Also battling for RMU were sophomores Isabella Novella (Santo Andre, Brazil) and Tiffany Meinert (Turtle Creek, Pa. / Oakland Catholic).

Novella dropped a hard fought decision to Danielle Rosenfeld at No. 5, 7-5 and 6-2, while Ashley Merrick slipped past Meinert, 6-3 and 6-3, at No. 6.

Robert Morris is next in action this weekend with a pair of non-conference matches, visiting Ohio Dominican Friday evening before traveling to play Wright State Saturday morning.
