RMU Has Record-Setting Victory At Keenan Invite

Olean, N.Y. / Bartlett C.C.-The Robert Morris University men's golf team won the 23rd Annual Leo Keenan Invitational Monday afternoon while setting a pair of scoring records. The Colonials' total of 571 at the 36-hole event represents a new tournament record - beating that mark by four strokes - and beats the previous team best score of 590 by 19 strokes.

Robert Morris carded a 590 at the 2003 Northeast Conference Championship. RMU also tied the single-round team scoring mark yesterday at the Keenan with a 285 score. It was one stroke off that total Monday posting a 286. The Colonials led the tournament in par-four scoring (+12), par-five scoring (-3), birdies (29) and pars (107).

Freshmen Bo Lustig (Belle Vernon, Pa. / Belle Vernon) and Ryan Prokay (Grove City, Pa. / Grove City) came in with the second lowest scores in team history, each posting identical rounds of 141. Both Lustig and Prokay shot 71 and 70 to tie for third position. Their rounds are also the third-lowest in relation to par at one-under.

Junior Brock Pompeani (Aliquippa, Pa. / Hopewell) tied for fifth position after carding a 71 in each of the rounds. He topped all 64 players in par-four scoring (-2) and pars (24). His 142 is the third-lowest number in team history of a two-round tournament.

Junior Max Cahn (Nyack, N.Y. / Nyack) made seven birdies en route to a 148 total with scores of 73 and 75. That put him 18th in the field. Junior Brandon Pompeani (Aliquippa, Pa. / Hopewell) followed his career-low 72 Sunday with a 77 Monday to place 20th.

Junior Donny Lewis (Wexford, Pa. / North Allegheny) turned in a 78 Monday to give him a 150 total. That put him in a tie for 22nd.
