Box Score Davidson, N.C. - Sept. 24, 2011 -The Robert Morris field hockey team had its program-record, three-game winning streak snapped on Saturday in a 3-0 nonconference loss to Davidson.
Despite being outshot 12-3 in the first half, the Colonials (5-5 overall, 0-0 NEC) kept the score knotted at 0-0 for the majority of the first half. Davidson (4-3, 0-0 NorPac) finally broke onto the scoreboard at 29:13 when Annie Evans scored her third goal of the season to put Davidson up 1-0 at the half. Meg Jarell would make it 2-0 just over six minutes into the second half, and Finley Amato would close out the day's scoring at 67:04 to give Davidson the 3-0 win. Davidson would outshoot Robert Morris 20-5 in the contest.
Colonial goalkeepers Erin McKenzie (Lismore, Australia / University of Queensland Tech) and Paige Neat (Louisville, Ky. / Christian Academy) split time in net for RMU, each taking a half of action. McKenzie, the defending NEC Rookie of the Week, made five saves and allowed one goal to take the loss while Neat made four saves and allowed two goals in the second half.
Robert Morris returns to action on Sunday at Appalachian State. That contest is slated for a 12 p.m. start.
