Box Score Smithfield, R.I. - The Robert Morris University field hockey team lost its first road NEC contest of the season as they fell to Bryant 2-1 on Friday evening.
After a scoreless first half that saw both teams put five shots on goal, the Colonials would open up the scoring in the second half. Less than three minutes into the half, Sophomore Taleah Scott (Crookwell, Australia) collected a loose ball inside the circle and fired a shot high over the Bryant goaltender. With less than 15 minutes left to play in the Bulldogs would tie the game after a loose ball trickled past goaltender Erin McKenzie (Lismore, Australia). With Just under five minutes left, Bryant would net their second goal to complete their comeback as the Bulldogs tipped in a shot that sealed the 2-1 defeat for the Colonials.
RMU outshot the Bulldogs 11-10 and were led by Jamie Hartley (Tamworth, Australia) who managed seven shots on goal. McKenzie remains winless on the season with an 0-8 record as she stopped eight of Bryant's ten shots on the evening.
Robert Morris will have a quick turnaround as they travel to Sienna on Sunday for a Noon matchup.
