Colonials Are Ninth At The Butler Spring Invitational

Avon, Ind. / Prestwick Country Club - The Robert Morris University men's golf team competed at the Butler Spring Invitational finishing ninth during the 36-hole tournament at Prestwick Country Club in Avon, Ind.

Freshman Ryan Prokay (Grove City, Pa. / Grove City) led all Robert Morris players by shooting 155 on the 6,960-yard, par-72 layout. The freshman opened with a 79 and cut three strokes in the second round to post a 76. He tied for 28th.

Juniors Brock Pompeani (Aliquippa, Pa. / Hopewell) and junior Donny Lewis (Wexford, Pa. / North Allegheny) both shot 162 to tie for 51st. Pompeani carded rounds of 79 and 83 as Lewis came home with an 80 after a first round 82.

Junior Brandon Pompeani (Aliquippa, Pa. / Hopewell) tied for 63rd with a 165 total (80-85) while junior Jim Davis (Wexford, Pa. / North Allegheny) finished up with an 81 after an 87. His 168 total put him in 67th.

Competing as an individual, junior Kyle Peters (Charleston, S.C. / James Island (Spartanburg Methodist)) had a 167 total, shooting an 85 and 82 to tie for 65th.
