Morris University men's golf finds itself in third place after the first round
of the 2012 Lonnie Barton Invitational. The event is the team's first of the
spring season after a fall schedule that saw the Colonials win two evnets.
Junior Brock Pompeani (Aliquippa, Pa. / Hopewell) is in a
tie for eighth-place after shooting a first round 78 on the par-72 layout at
The Club at Savannah Harbor. Freshman Bo Lustig (Belle Vernon, Pa. / Belle
Vernon) is just two strokes back after his opening round 79.
Junior Donny Lewis (Wexford, Pa. / North Allegheny) opened
with an 83, one stroke ahead of junior Brandon Pompeani's (Aliquippa, Pa. /
Hopewell) 84. They sit tied for 23rd and 26th,
respectively. Junior Max Cahn (Nyack, N.Y. / Nyack) rounds out the team scorers
with an 85, putting him in a tie for 29th.
Senior Robbie Holdcroft (Pennsylvania Furnace, Pa. /
State College) and junior Kyle Peters (Charleston, S.C. / James Island
(Spartanburg Methodist)) are the playing the event as individuals. Both shot an
86 and sit in 31st.
