First Half Goal Downs Colonials

Lynchburg, Va. - The Robert Morris University field hockey team fell 1-0 in a neutral site game against La Salle on Saturday afternoon.

The loss extends Robert Morris' (3-6, 0-0 NEC) losing streak to five games after the won three of their first four games of the season.

Starting her second game in as many days, sophomore goalkeeper Erin McKenzie (Lismore, Australia / University of Queensland Tech) stopped nine of the ten Explorer shots as she remains winless on the season.  Sophomore Jamie Hartley (Tamworth, Australia / University of Newcastle) and freshman Courtney Schratz (Peters Township, Pa. / Peters Township) both managed two shots on goal in the loss.

The La Salle goal came in the 34th minute as a loose ball was shot over the pads of a sliding McKenzie.  The Colonials managed to put four shots on net in the second half but were not able to solve the Explorer goalkeeper.

Robert Morris returns to action on Wednesday as they travel to Columbus, Ohio to take on Ohio State at 3:00 p.m.
