Offensive Explosion Pushes RMU Win Streak to Three

Box Score

Louisville, Ky. - The Robert Morris University field hockey team scored three goals in a ten-minute span of the first half to beat Saint Louis 4-1 Sunday morning.  The win gives the team a three-game winning streak after a season-opening loss the previous weekend.

The Colonials opened the scoring in the 11th minute as sophomore Jamie Hartley (Tamworth, Australia / University of Newcastle) netted the first of her two goals in the contest.  Hartley's tally came directly off of a penalty corner.  In the 17th minute, fellow sophomore Taleah Scott (Crookwell, Australia / Crookwell) scored her second goal of the weekend as she deposited a shot off of a rebound opportunity.  Less than two minutes later, Robert Morris would take a 3-0 lead as freshman Courtney Schratz (Peters Township, Pa. / Peters Township) picked up her second goal of the weekend as well.  Schratz took a Scott pass from the middle of the penalty circle and deposited the ball into the left side of the vacant net.  To close out the first half, Saint Louis broke the shutout being held by Colonial goaltender Paige Neat (Louisville, Ky. / Christian Academy).  Neat's shutout streak lasted the span of two complete games that included her first career shutout just a week ago.

In the second half, the Colonials would add to their lead with Hartley's second goal of the game.  She scored in the 63rd minute as she dribbled around the Saint Louis defenders and scored on a reverse stick shot.  Neat would fight off the lone Saint Louis shot-on-goal in the half to pick up her third win of the season.

Robert Morris continues their nine game roadtrip as they travel to Kent State this upcoming Friday for a 3:00 p.m. faceoff against the Golden Flashes.
