Robert Morris Drops Overtime Contest

The Colonials fall to Lock Haven 3-2.

Box Score

Kent, Ohio - The Robert Morris University field hockey team lost their second game in as many days as they fell to Lock Haven 3-2 in overtime on Saturday afternoon.

Robert Morris opened the scoring as freshmen Jess Martin-Brown (Mount Grambrier, Australia) and Sophie Watt (Sawtell, Australia) teamed up for Martin-Brown's third goal of the season.  In the 18th minute, Martin-Brown put home a rebound off of a shot by Watt.  Less than ten minutes later, the Colonials would double their lead as sophomores Jamie Hartley (Tamworth, Australia / University of Newcastle) and Taleah Scott (Crookwell, Australia / Crookwell) combined for Hartley's second goal of the weekend.

The Colonials held their two-goal advantage until the 54th minute when Lock Haven would put the first of three consecutive goals behind sophomore netminder Erin McKenzie (Lismore, Australia / University of Queensland Tech).  With less than five minutes remaining in regulation, Lock Haven would tie the game.

The Colonials would see overtime action for the first time this season and five minutes in to the extra session, Lock Haven would net the game winner off of a penalty corner.

Robert Morris will continue action away from the comfort of home as they travel to Athens, Ohio to take on Ohio University.  Last season the Colonials came away victorious over the Bobcats in what was the program's first win over a nationally ranked opponent.
