RMU Takes 11th at CSU Invitational

Final Results

Aurora, Ohio / Barrington C.C. —
The Robert Morris University men's golf team finished 11th at the Cleveland State Invitational which finished Tuesday afternoon at Barrington Country Club in Aurora, Ohio.
 
Cincinnati won the event with an 835 total, blowing away the rest of the field. Cleveland State was second with an 863 while Evansville, Loyola (Ill.) and Detroit tied for third at 869. Robert Morris tallied team scores of 298, 306 and 308 en route to a 912 team total.
 
Junior Santiago Mejia (Bogota, Colombia / Blessed Hope) finished tied for 28th with a 222 total. He opened play with a team event-low 71 in the first round. He followed up with scores of 78 and 73.
 
Sophomore Garrett Browning (Imperial, Pa. / West Allegheny) carded his best score in round two with a 73. That was sandwiched by a first round 77 and second round 76 that gave him 226 and placed him in a tie for 48th. Junior Ryan Prokay (Grove City, Pa. / Grove City) tied Browning's first and second round scores before coming home with a final round. He finished tied for 47th with a 229.
 
Freshman Dean Hitt (Jackson, Mich. / Lumen Christi) took 65th with a 235. After firing 73 to start the tournament, he finished with scores of 82 and 80. Junior Matt Gurska (Hermitage, Pa. / Kennedy Catholic) placed 70th with a 240 (77-83-80). Playing as an individual, freshman Mac Cavanaugh (West Newbury, Mass. / Pentucket Regional) tied for 78th (91-85-80=256).
