Hamden, Conn. – The Robert Morris University field hockey team fell to the Quinnipiac Bobcats this afternoon, 3-0.

Quinnipiac would strike early, denting the scoreboard 4:29 into the game. Danielle Allan found Jessica Rusin on the right side of the field and Rusin struck it past junior goalkeeper Erin McKenzie (Lismore, Australia / University of Queensland Tech) for the contest's first goal.

Rusin would earn her second goal in the 38th minute, as she gathered another pass from Allan and pushed it past McKenzie again.

The Bobcats added a third goal, as Christa Romano beat sophomore goalkeeper Emma Singer (Harrisburg, Pa. / Susquehanna Township) in the 57th minute. Meghan McCullough and Amanda Danziger registered assists on the strike.

The Colonials had their chances, as they rifled off nine shots on goal – three a piece from freshman Chloe McIlwaine (Belfast, Ireland / Northumbria University) and junior Julianne Alspaugh (Carlisle, Pa. / Cumberland Valley). However, Quinnipiac goalkeeper Megan Conaboy held down the fort and earned the shutout.

RMU will finish their regular season road slate on Sunday when they face Sacred Heart at noon.
