Quick Stat of the Night - Robert Morris will take on the No. 1 team in the country Sunday night at Rupp Arena in the University of Kentucky, marking just the second time in the program's 38-year Division I history the Colonials have faced off with a team ranked No. 1. Ironically, the last time RMU faced off with a No. 1 team, it was also the Wildcats. In the first round of the 1989 NCAA Tournament March 16, 1989, at University Pavilion in Boise, Idaho, Robert Morris dropped a 94-60 decision to No. 1 Arizona. The Wildcats featured future NBA first-round pick Sean Elliott, who scored a game-high 27 points, and future Major League Baseball (MLB) American League stolen base champion Kenny Lofton. Robert Morris was led in that contest by former forward Vaughn Luton (1986-89), who finished with 23 points.

Sunday's Opponent and The All-Time Series - Robert Morris and Kentucky will square off on the hardwood for just the third time Sunday, with the all-time series tied, 1-1. In the last meeting between the two programs, forward
Mike McFadden hit a pair of free throws with 8.7 seconds to play that helped lift the Colonials to a 59-57 victory over the Wildcats in the opening round of the 2013 National Invitation Tournament (NIT) March 19, 2013. The game was played in front of 3,444 fans at the Charles L. Sewall Center, the largest crowd in school history. Kyle Wiltjer's three-pointer at the buzzer was off the mark, giving RMU its first-ever victory in the postseason NIT. Forward
Lucky Jones paced the Colonials in the victory with 15 points, while former forward
Russell Johnson (2008-13) contributed 14 points, five rebounds and three steals. In the only other meeting between the two programs, Kentucky posted a 92-67 win over RMU at Rupp Arena Dec. 30, 1993.
