Moon Township, Pa. –
Freshman forward Jeremiah Worthem (Philadelphia, Pa. / Math, Civics & Sciences) of the Robert Morris University men's basketball team earned the first weekly honor of his career Monday, as he was tabbed the Choice Hotels Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week.

Worthem was bestowed the honored after averaging 11.5 points points and 5.5 rebounds last week as RMU concluded play in the Keightley Classic with a 1-1 record.

Another in a long line of recruits out of Philadelphia for Robert Morris, Worthem finished with seven points and six rebounds in an 88-81 victory over UT Arlington (11/21/13) at the Charles L. Sewall Center.

Two days later at Cleveland State (11/23/13), Worthem paced the Colonials with a career-high 16 points and also tied for team-high honors with five rebounds. He converted four of his five shots from the field, including his only attempt from beyond the arc, and was also 7-for-12 at the free-throw line.

On the 2013-14 campaign, Worthem is supplying Robert Morris with averages of 7.3 points and 4.2 rebounds per game and ranks second for the Colonials in free-throw attempts with 25, having converted 15 (60 percent).

RMU continues a four-game road trip Tuesday, Nov. 26, with a 7:00 p.m. tip against the University at Buffalo at Alumni Arena in Buffalo, N.Y.
