Moon Township, Pa. - The Robert Morris University men's ice hockey team had a member of its 2012-2013 senior class honored by the Atlantic Hockey Association for their performance during the season. Forward Adam Brace was named to the All-Atlantic Hockey Second Team after a 41-point season.
After a career-low 23 points in his junior season, Adam Brace (Cobden, Ontario / Canisius College) surpassed 100 career points in his senior campaign after scoring 14 goals and dishing out a team-high 27 assists. Brace is just one of four Colonials in program history to record at least 40 points in a single season. In the season, Brace led the Colonials with a +24 rating while also leading the Colonials with three short-handed goals. The forward ranked in the top-20 nationally in points per game (19th – 1.08) and assists per game (13th – 0.71).
In his three-year career at Robert Morris after transferring from Canisius, Brace recorded 92 points which is the fourth highest total in program history. The Ontario native also ranks third in goals (40) and fifth in assists (52) in the career record book at RMU. Brace is a part of a senior class that is the winningest in program history that include wins over nationally-ranked Miami, Niagara, and Quinnipiac this season.
Despite bowing out of the 2013 Atlantic Hockey playoffs in the quarterfinals after being swept by Connecticut, there is still the possibility that Robert Morris can receive an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. Multiple scenarios would have to play out this weekend for the Colonials to continue their season that has already been one of the best in program history.
