Moon Township, Pa. – In its final tuneup for the 2013 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championships this weekend, the
Robert Morris University women's rowing team competed at the Black Rock Cup Saturday in Buffalo, N.Y.
Competing in vicious head and crosswinds, the RMU's two Varsity 8 boats competed, with each entry finishing second.
The first Varsity 8 posted a time of 8:23.69 to trail only host Canisius, which posted a time of 7:57.95. The boat consisted of sophomore
Laura Mooradian (St. Catharines, Ontario / Denis Morris) as the coxswain and freshman
Donna Muschar (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Perry) as the bow and also featured freshman
Kelley Bittner (Gibsonia, Pa. / Hampton), sophomore
Heather Hodges (Valencia, Pa. / Mars Area), freshman
Caitlin Ryan (Pittsford, N.Y. / Pittsford Sutherland), sophomores
Kristin Fay (Philadelphia, Pa. / Philadelphia) and
Brianna Hellier (Beaver, Pa. / Beaver Area) and freshman
Rebekah Noorlag (Beaver, Pa. / Beaver County Christian).
The second Varsity 8, along with the Novice 8, competed in the second race, with the second Varsity 8 posting a time of 9:13.94, with Novice 8 finishing with a time of 10:29.10.
Appearing in the second Varsity 8 boat for the Colonials was freshman
Angelica Tomlinson (Dayton, Ohio / Chaminade-Julienne) as the cox and freshman
Bridget Robinson (Voorhees, N.J. / Eastern) as the bow and also included senior

Robert Morris is next in action at the 2013 MAAC Championships, which take place Saturday, April 27, and Sunday, April 28, in West Windsor, N.J.
