Frosh 4+ and V4+ Advance to Sunday Finals of the Knecht Cup Regatta

CHERRY HILL, N.J. – The RMU women's rowing team had a solid start to day one of the Knecht Cup Regatta in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, with the Frosh 4+ and V4+ crew advancing to the finals on Sunday.
 
The Colonials opened the day up with the Frosh 4+ crew winning its heat, crossing in a time of 8:27.66 ahead of crews from Jefferson, New Hampshire, Franklin Pierce, and Penn State to advance to the A finals on Sunday.
 
Taking second in their heat was the 2V4+ crew, who crossed in 9:07.87 behind a crew from Bryant University and ahead of a crew from Monmouth University.
 
The V4+ crew finished third in their heat, crossing in a time of 8:31.29 to advance to the semi-finals, where they finished in sixth place with a time of 8:42.36. The V4+ crew will now compete in the C finals on Sunday morning.
 
In the V8+ race, the Colonials finished in sixth place, crossing in a time of 7:36.98 to round out the results from day one of the Knecht Cup Regatta.
 
SUNDAY SHOWDOWN
Both the Frosh 4+ and V4+ crews will compete in the finals tomorrow in Cherry Hill, with the Frosh 4+ finals slated to start at 9:43 a.m., while the V4+ final will begin at approximately 10:20 a.m. The Frosh 4+ are competing in the A final, which is 1st through 6th place, while the V4+ will compete in the C finals and will compete for 13th through 18th place.
