Colonials Earn MAAC Academic Honors

Moon Township, Pa. – A total of 24 members of the Robert Morris University women's rowing team were honored Monday for their achievements in the classroom as the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) announced its 2012-13 Academic Honor Roll.

To be eligible for the MAAC Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must hold a cumulative graduate point average (GPA) of 3.20 on a 4.00 scale. A total of 1,625 student-athletes were honored by the MAAC, covering 24 sports sponsored by the conference and including both full-time and associate members.

Junior Megan Coleman (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Northgate) highlights the group for RMU in 2012-13, as the actuarial science major has compiled a perfect 4.00 GPA through her first three years in college. Freshman Paige Oster (Mantua, Ohio / Cuyahoga Valley Christian) also sports a perfect 4.00 GPA as a nursing major.

Also highlighting the group for the Colonials is sophomore Laura Mooradian (St. Catharines, Ontario / Denis Morris), who owns a 3.96 GPA with a double major of accounting and sport management, while freshman Eileen Toribio (Philadelphia, Pa. / Arts Academy at Rush) compiled a 3.91 GPA as a psychology major in her first year of college.

In 2013, Robert Morris finished fifth at the MAAC Championships in Lake Windsor, N.J., with a final point tally of 23.
