Box Score

Bloomington, Ind. The Robert Morris University field hockey team improved to 4-1 on the season after defeating Missouri State, 1-0.

The 4-1 record gives the Colonials their best start in school history, surpassing last year's 3-1 mark.

Freshman Chloe McIlwaine (Belfast, Ireland / Northumbria University) was the lone goal scorer, as she buried a pass off a penalty corner from junior Jamie Hartley (Tamworth, Australia / University of Newcastle) in the 53rd minute. The strike was McIlwaine's second score of the season, and it also gave Hartley the eighth point of her junior campaign.

Junior Erin McKenzie (Lismore, Australia / University of Queensland Tech) earned her fourth consecutive shutout, stopping all four Bear shot attempts.

RMU outpaced Missouri State in shots (14 to 4), shots on goal (6 to 4), and penalty corners (11 to 3).

The Colonials return to the field tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 p.m. against Indiana.
