Moon Township, Pa. - To kick off the 2011-12 season, the Robert Morris men's and women's basketball teams will host Meet the Colonials Night on Thursday, October 20 at 9:00 pm in the Sewall Center.

The 2011-12 men's and women's teams will be announced in a special "lights out" introduction and will participate in various activities throughout the evening. Both teams will hold 15-minute intrasquad scrimmages, and the men's team will close out the night with a high-flying dunk contest.  

In addition, Meet the Colonials Night will feature appearances by the RMU Cheerleaders, Band and Dance Team. Several fan promotions will be held throughout the event, including Musical Basketballs and the RMU Half-Court Challenge. Eight lucky fans will win $25 Best Buy gift cards courtesy of RMU Athletics, and one lucky fan will be selected to win a $250 Best Buy gift card. Fans will be treated to FREE pizza beginning at 9:30 pm.

Meet the Colonials Night is open to the public, with FREE admission for all fans. RMU Men's Basketball will open the season on Monday, October 31 vs. Wheeling Jesuit at 7:00 pm, while RMU Women's Basketball will get underway on Saturday, November 12 vs. Coppin State at 7:00 pm.
