Lewisburg, Pa. / Bucknell University G.C. – The Robert Morris University women's golf team kicked of its 2013-14 schedule at the Bucknell Women's Invitational Saturday afternoon. The Colonials find themselves in 11th place after the opening two rounds of the 54-hole event being played at the 5,998-yard, par-70 layout at Bucknell University Golf Course.
Sophomore Halley Morell (Brecksville, Ohio / Brecksville-Broadview Heights) led RMU through the first day carding rounds of 80 and 81. She is tied for 28th overall with a 161 total. Junior Sarah Weber (Hudson, Ohio / Hudson) started play with an 82 before a round of 85 that leaves her in 44th.
Freshman Amanda Reach (Moscow, Pa. / North Pocono) tied Morell for team-best honors in round one with an 80 before a second round 88 left her in a tie for 50th position. Senior Annie Bozich (Aliquippa, Pa. / Center) found six strokes in round two, coming home with an 84 after starting the event with a 90. She's tied for 66th. Rounding out the Colonial contingent is freshman Chloe Wong (Vancouver, B.C. / Prince of Wales) who is all alone in 70th following her day one total of 176. She shot rounds of 89 and 87.
The third and final round of the event is slated for Sunday, Sept. 8.
