Emmitsburg, Md. – The
Robert Morris University men's basketball team remained perfect in the Northeast Conference Saturday afternoon in posting its fourth straight win thanks to a 77-69 victory over Mount St. Mary's at Knott Arena.
RMU improved to 9-10 overall on the 2013-14 campaign and 4-0 in the NEC for the first time since the 2005-06 campaign, while the Mount fell to 6-11 overall and 2-2 in the league.
Down six at halftime, 35-29, Taylor Danaher gave the Mount its biggest lead of the game, 37-29, by converting a layup to open scoring in the second half.

Lucky Jones (Newark, N.J. / St. Anthony) stole an inbounds pass by Sam Prescott and converted a layup while being fouled on the play. Jones converted the free throw for the three-point play to cap a 12-4 surge to push the Colonials back in front.
The back-and-forth affair continued, as Mount St. Mary's grabbed a 50-47 advantage at the 13:10 mark of the second half thanks to five straight points from Prescott, including a three-point play thanks to a fastbreak layup and a foul by junior guard

Despite the three-point play, Robert Morris took control with a 16-5 run to open up a 65-57 advantage with 4:59 to play that featured nine points from freshman forward
Jeremiah Worthem (Philadelphia, Pa. / Math, Civics & Sciences). Worthem ignited the final surge with a three-pointer that tied the game for the ninth time, 52-52, and scored seven straight points during the run.
Mount St. Mary's trimmed its deficit to 66-65 with 2:53 to go after a Danaher layup, but the Colonials kept the Mount at bay thanks to solid free-throw shooting, converting 12 of their 14 attempts at the line in the final 3:50 of action.
In winning its first game of the season after trailing at the break, Robert Morris shot 53.8 percent (14-for-26) from the field in the second half and 89.5 percent (17-for-19) at the stripe. Overall the Colonials converted 42.9 percent (24-for-56) from the field and 83.3 percent (25-for-30) at the free-throw line.
Worthem scored a career-high 21 points to pace RMU, hitting seven of his 11 shots from the field, including his only attempt from beyond the arc, while going 6-for-6 at the free-throw line.

Karvel Anderson (Elkhart, Ind. / Glen Oaks Community College) chipped in with 12 points.
Rashad Whack led all scorers in the game with 22 points, while Prescott contributed 16 points and Julian Norfleet 11. However, Whack and Norfleet were a combined 3-for-16 from beyond the arc.
Robert Morris returns to action Thursday, Jan. 23, by opening a four-game homestand at the Charles L. Sewall Center with a 7:00 p.m. tip against Sacred Heart.
