Moon Township, Pa. – The
Robert Morris University men's golf team is tied for 11th at the Dayton Flyer Invitational halfway through the two-round event being played at the NCR Country Club South Course in Kettering, Ohio. The course is playing at 7,100 yards and par of 71.
Ryan Prokay tallied one of just seven eagles by the field of 100 players and finds himself in a tie for seventh-place after an opening round 73. He is two strokes out of runner-up position and five behind round one leader George Rohde III (Dayton). Prokay had 13 pars in his round.
Santiago Mejia and
Matt Gurska both finished out the round in 76 strokes placing them in a tie for 35th. Mejia tallied 12 pars while playing the par-five holes at two-under par.
Garrett Browning carded four pars en route to a round of 80 while
Dan Maier is one stroke behind him with an 81.Playing as an individual,
Brett Pompeani finished with an 86.
Xavier leads the field of 15 teams with a 293 (+9). Northern Kentucky sits one stroke behind followed by Dayton (295), Detroit (298) and IUPUI, Butler and Oakland rounding out the top-five teams in a three-way tie with a 301.
