Brett Wraps Up Season as Nation’s Point Leader

Moon Township, Pa. – Robert Morris University junior forward Neco Brett is the nation's point leader as the NCAA Division I Men's Soccer regular season winds down. Brett finished the year with 15 goals and three assists, accumulating 33 points. He has a one goal lead and a one-point lead in both categories.

Brett also led the nation in scoring as a junior, and if he continues to hold that lead through the end of the regular season, he would become the first player since the NCAA started tracking the annual points and goal champion in 1998. With just 12 games remaining in the NCAA's regular season, Brett is just one week from his second consecutive point and goal title.

The Jamaican-born forward opened the season by scoring in five of the first six games. He then exploded for four goals against George Washington, the second-most goals in a game in RMU history. That was part of a three-game, six-goal spurt by Brett.

As a junior, Brett scored 14 goals and had eight points, tallying 36 points. He is now seventh all-time at Robert Morris with 69 career points. With 29 goals, Brett is tied for sixth in team history.
