THE MATCHUP
The 17th-ranked Colonials welcome Atlantic Hockey rival Air Force to 84 Lumber Arena for the third annual Men's Cancer Awareness Weekend. (For more on this year's events, click here.) At 7-0-1, RMU is one of three unbeaten teams left in Division I hockey; the Colonials will take the ice as a ranked team for the first time in nearly two years.

ABOUT ROBERT MORRIS
Although the Colonials sat out last weekend, they saw their early lead in the AHC standings stretch to two points. RMU is 5-0-1 in league play, good for 11 points, while second-place Holy Cross is 3-0-3 for nine standings points.
RMU improved to 5-0 on home ice two weeks ago, when it dispatched RIT by a combined score of 10-5. That two-game sweep pushed the Colonials into the USCHO's top 20 for the first time since the 2012-13 season.
The Colonials continue to excel on offense and defense, as they rank second in the nation in goals per game (3.88) and third in goals-against average (1.50). They have outscored their opponents 31-12 on the season, giving them a nation-leading 2.38 average margin of victory.
RMU had Atlantic Hockey's Player and Goalie of the Month for October, with senior winger Cody Wydo (6g, 5a) and sophomore goalie Dalton Izyk (97 saves on 98 shots) shining brightest during the Colonials' first seven games. Both won the same awards last March as RMU claimed its first league title.
Not only have the Colonials been outstanding on the penalty kill (9th in the nation - 91.2 percent), they have also been sound at even strength, with a collective plus-15 rating that ranks second in Division I.
The Colonials have reached seven wins in eight games, the program's best-ever start. Last season, RMU didn't win its seventh game until Jan. 24, which was Game No. 27.

SCOUTING AIR FORCE
Air Force begins a long stretch of action away from Colorado Springs with a trip to Pittsburgh. The Falcons will play 11 of their next 12 games on the road.
Having home ice didn't help Air Force last weekend, when Alabama-Huntsville invaded Cadet Arena and earned a 4-2 win and a 3-3 tie. The Falcons did well to get the draw Saturday, rallying from a 3-0 third-period hole.
Senior forward Cole Gunner claimed another Atlantic Hockey Player of the Week award - his second of the season and fourth of the calendar year - with two goals and two assists last weekend against UAH. The Minnesota native had three points (1g, 2a) Saturday, including the tying goal late.
While Gunner leads the Falcons in assists (8) and points (12), he shares the goal-scoring lead with senior Chad Demers and sophomore A.J. Reid at four apiece. Demers carries a team-best five-game scoring streak to town.
Sophomore defenseman Johnny Hrabovsky leads all Falcons blueliners with six points, while classmate Chris Truehl has started all nine Air Force games in goal.
Frank Serratore is in his 18th season coaching the Falcons, boasting 344 wins at Air Force. RMU head coach Derek Schooley was an assistant under Serratore from 1998-2003. In addition, Schooley played for Serratore with the USHL's Omaha Lancers.

What a Start: By winning their first five games of the 2014-15 season, the Colonials not only established the best start in program history, they also matched their longest win streak in 11 years of Division I hockey. Their eight-game unbeaten streak to start (7-0-1) is one shy of the longest ever for RMU, a nine-gamer in 2013-14 (7-0-2).

Breaking Through: After sophomore defensemen John Rey (40th game) and Rob Mann (14th) netted their first NCAA goals in the season's first month, senior forward David Rigatti scored his first collegiate goal in his 86th RMU game on Oct. 31 against RIT. Freshmen Brady Ferguson, Spencer Dorowicz and Timmy Moore have also recorded their first collegiate goals this season

#FancyStats: Thus far this season, RMU has launched 47 percent of the shot attempts in its games, a measurement known as Corsi. The metric called Fenwick factors out blocked shots, and since the Colonials make that a big part of their defensive game, it's no suprise they fare better there, at 50 percent. In terms of shots on goal, RMU has owned 53 percent of those.
