Taking the Game Outside
On Jan. 3, 2015, Robert Morris and Bowling Green, in conjunction with the Toledo Walleye of the ECHL, will take to the ice outdoors at Fifth Third Field in Toledo, Ohio.  As part of the Walleye's Winterfest, the two teams will participate in the first outdoor game in RMU program history.

Twice is Nice
Sophomore goaltender Terry Shafer earned the AHA Goaltender of the Week award for the second-consecutive week after allowing three goals in the two-game series against RIT last week.
No Shorties Allowed
This season, Robert Morris is one of three schools in the NCAA - along with Colorado College and St. Cloud State - to not allow a shorthanded goal during the 2013/14 campaign.  Of the three schools, Robert Morris has had the most power-play opportunities in the season with 129.

Searching for a First Round Bye
Currently sitting in fifth place after sweeping Army last week, Robert Morris remains in the hunt for a first-round bye in the 2014 Atlantic Hockey Playoffs, an achievement that is given to the top-four teams after regular season play.  With 26 points, the Colonials are one point behind Air Force and Connecticut for the final first-round bye.

30-30 for Wydo
With his assist on Jan. 31 against Army, junior forward Cody Wydo joined the 30-30 club at Robert Morris.  Wydo now has 55 career goals and 32 assists, becoming the eighth Colonial to join the club that includes senior forward Colin South.

Winning with the Penalty Kill
In its ten victories this season, Robert Morris has allowed just four power-play goals to its opponents.  The Colonials have killed off 39 of the 43 (90.7 percent) penalties they have committed, ranking RMU 14th in the NCAA.

Under Fire
Sophomore goaltender Terry Shafer has seen 793 shots this season, ranking the netminder seventh in the NCAA and third in the AHA.  Shafer's 727 saves this season  put the RMU goaltender ninth in the nation and fourth in Atlantic Hockey.

Creating a Robert Morris Victory
All 11 of Robert Morris' victories this season have come when the Colonials have not trailed at the end of any period, and recorded a minimum of 30 shots while not being outshot their opponent.

Surviving the Second Period
The second period has been the kryptonite of Robert Morris this season.  Colonial goaltenders have recorded a 3.86 goals-against average and a .895 save percentage in the middle frame despite making 303 saves, the most saves in any period this season.

Guarding an Empty Net
Robert Morris is just one of five teams - along with Alabama-Huntsville, Boston College, Cornell, and Ferris State - in the NCAA yet to allow an empty-net goal this season.  Of those five teams, RMU has spent the most time with an extra attacker on the ice, 17:46.
