Rochester, N.Y. – For only the third time this season, the Robert Morris University women's hockey team was blanked, as the Colonials fell to RIT this afternoon, 1-0.

No. 9 Robert Morris (22-7-3, 11-5-2 CHA) dropped its fourth-straight game on Saturday after winning its first 10 contests on the weekend's first day. RIT (14-15-3, 9-7-2 CHA) stayed one point behind Syracuse for third place in the College Hockey America (CHA) standings and is four points outside a first round bye.

The Tigers nabbed the game-winning goal midway through the first period. With senior assistant captain Brandi Pollock (Virden, Manitoba / Westman Wildcats) in the box for an interference call, RIT slowly looked for an opening against the Colonial penalty kill unit. Celeste Brown fired a shot with seven seconds left that found its way past freshman goaltender Jessica Dodds (London, Ontario / London Jr. Devilettes), giving the Tigers the early advantage.

RMU and RIT played a scoreless second period as neither team capitalized on its power play chances (0-1 RMU, 0-2 RIT).
The Colonials had a great opportunity to tie the game less than four minutes into the final frame as two Tigers were sent to the box for checking calls. RMU mustered to get four shots on net on the 5-on-3 power play, but none found their way past Tigers goaltender Ali Binnington.

With 15 seconds remaining, freshman forward Brittany Howard (St. Thomas, Ontario / Burlington Jr. Barracudas) had the Colonials' best chance of the game, but was robbed by Binnington to preserve the RIT win.

Dodds suffered the fourth loss of her collegiate career despite stopping 19 of 20 shots.

RMU outshot the Tigers, 22-20. RIT blocked 38 shots on the afternoon.

Robert Morris returns home next weekend in search of a first round bye in the CHA Tournament. The Colonials take on Penn State as a part of Senior Weekend, with Friday's contest featuring a 3:05 p.m. face-off from 84 Lumber Arena.
