Easton, Md. / Hog Neck Golf Course - The Robert Morris University men's golf team is tied for ninth place after the first 18 of 36 holes at the Whiting-Turner Invitational hosted by Towson University. The event, originally scheduled for three rounds at Prospect Bay Golf Club, had the first round cancelled and the second round moved to Hog Neck Golf Course due to winter weather conditions. The final round will move back to Prospect Bay Golf Club.
Santiago Mejia topped the RMU contingent with a first-round 77 and sits tied for 21st.
Dan Maier and
Ryan Prokay both carded rounds of 78 and are tied for 28th. Maier provided the highlight of the afternoon with an eagle on the par-five fourth hole.
Garrett Browning is 66th following his opening round 82 while
Dean Hitt sits tied for 76th with an 83.
Robert Morris shot a team score of 315.
