Official Results

Moon Township, Pa. – Junior Bethany Ledford (Huntingdon, Pa. / Huntingdon) won the individual championship in the pole vault Sunday to highlight the efforts of the Robert Morris University women's track & field team at the IC4A/ECAC Championships in Princeton, N.J.

Ledford was one of three student-athletes to clear 3.87 meters (12'8.25") in the pole vault, joining Megan Gemar of Army and Alexandra Wasik of Villanova, but Ledford won the individual title by clearing the mark on her second attempt. The performance by Ledford smashed her own school record in the event of 3.70 meters (12'1.50") set earlier this season at the Red Flash Open (4/26/14).

Ledford, just the second student-athlete from RMU to win an individual title at the IC4A/ECAC Championships, was one of three Colonials to score and earn All-East Coast status for RMU, joining junior Aubree Ray (Middletown, Pa. / Middletown Area) and senior Yulia Vasilyeva (Volgograd, Russia).

Ray took home sixth in the discus thanks to a toss of 47.00 meters (154'2"), while Vasilyeva tied for seventh in the high jump while earning 10th in the triple jump. Vasilyeva posted a leap of 1.72 meters (5'7.75") in the high jump to tie for seventh with Courtney Avery of Lehigh while finishing with a distance of 12.10 meters (39'8.50") in the triple jump.

In the shot put, Robert Morris had a pair of student-athletes participate, as senior Rachael Kotula (East Berlin, Pa. / Bermudian Springs) finished 17th with a throw of 12.80 meters (42'0"), while freshman April Krivoniak (Greensburg, Pa. / Latrobe) claimed 18th with a toss of 12.63 meters (41'5.25").

As a team, Robert Morris finished with 14.5 points to finish 25th as a team. Connecticut won the team championship thanks to 85 points.
