Ryan Prokay fired a round of 65 to lead the
Robert Morris University men's golf team to a program-record team score and the lead at Leo Keenan Invitational at Bartlett Country Club in Olean, N.Y.

The Colonials sit in first place after carding a team-score of one-over par 281 in the first round. That score breaks the previous team record of 285, set in 2011 at the same 6,308-yard, par-70 layout at Bartlett Country Club.

RMU sits two strokes ahead of Humber (Ontario) and four in front of Northeast Conference foe LIU Brooklyn (285). Cleveland State (286) is fourth followed by Drexel (287), Northern Kentucky (288), Wagner (289), Saint Joseph's (290), Canisius (293), host St. Bonaventure (294), and Ottawa and Niagara (300).

Prokay was under par on both the front and the back nine, tying the school record of 65 (Max Cahn, 2009). The five-under par (Max Cahn, 2009) is also a school record for lowest score in relation to par. Prior to Sunday's round, Prokay's previous best was a three-under par 69 at the 2012 Mount St. Mary's Spring Invitational. Sunday, he fired a 31 on the front nine and a 34 on the back. He is tied with LIU Brooklyn's Stewart Gray for first place.

Senior
Santiago Mejia tied his low round as a Colonial carding a two-under par 68. After a two-over par 37 on the front nine, Mejia carded a 31 on the back to put himself into a tie for fifth. Mejia also had a 68 at the 2013 Dayton Fall Classic.

Matt Gurska and
Garrett Browning both shot rounds of 74, but in different fashions. Gurska carded a 37 on both sides of the course. Browning had a 35 on the front nine before tallying a 39 on the back.
Dan Maier rounded out the team scoring with a 76, putting him in a tie for 50
th.

Freshman
Grant Schumaker played as an individual. He sits tied for 66
th after an opening round of 80.

Robert Morris will try to wrap up the team title at the Leo Keenan Invitational for the third time since 2011 when the second round gets under way Monday, Sept. 15, with a 9:30 a.m. shotgun start.
