Robert Morris will begin Northeast Conference play Friday at home against Sacred Heart in the second game of a men's and women's doubleheader at the North Athletic Complex. Robert Morris finished off non-conference play with a pair of home wins last week. The Colonials defeated local rival Duquesne 2-1 in a double overtime thriller and came away with a 3-0 victory against the Howard Bison. Sacred Heart will be competing in their first game in the last three weeks, with their last contest being a loss to St. Peters by a score of 2-1 on September 16. The Pioneers are 1-4-1 on the year and are attempting to break a three-game losing streak.
 
The Series vs. Sacred Heart
RMU holds the series edge with a record of 11-5 all-time against Sacred Heart. Shutouts have been very common over the years with ten of their previous matchups ending with one team held scoreless. The Colonials won last year by a score of 3-1 and RMU defeated the Pioneers 5-0 in 2013.

-With a goal and an assist against Howard, Lucas Puntillo's 13 points is good enough for second in the NEC, behind only teammate Neco Brett, and his five assists to lead the NEC
- Puntillo has been the NEC Rookie of the Week for three consecutive weeks and four time total in 2015
-Rafael Bruzual's goal at 107:41 against Duquesne was the fourth latest goal in team history
- Senior goalkeeper Brenden Alfery is second in the nation with 61 saves this season and is ninth averaging 5.6 saves per game
- Senior Neco Brett ranks sixth in the nation in goals (9) and is seventh in points (19)
- RMU is second in the league averaging 1.64 goals per game
- Brett was named to the Mac Hermann Trophy Watch List, an award that is given annually to the best men's soccer player in the nation
- Five of the Colonials first 10 games have gone to overtime. The team record for OT games is six set by the 2006 and 1992 teams

Robert Morris will travel New York city next weekend as they meet both the NEC's Brooklyn-based teams. They will take on LIU Brooklyn Friday, October 16th at 4:00 p.m.  and St. Francis Brooklyn Sunday, October 18th at 3:00 p.m.
