Johnstown, Pa. -- The Robert Morris University men's golf team holds a 13-stroke lead over the field after the first two rounds of Red Flash Invitational at Sunnehanna Country Club in Johnstown, Pa. The Colonials won the event last spring as well and will try to make it conseuctive titles when the third round gets under way Tuesday, April 14.

Four of the six RMU representatives are in the top-10 and none sit worse than 17th in the 47 player field. The Colonials carded rounds of 288 and 286 - eighth and fifth best in team history - to surge ahead with a 574 total on the 6,734-yard, par-70 layout. Bucknell is second with a 587 followed by host Saint Francis U. (588), Humber College (591), Wagner (592), Iona (595), Saint Francis U "B" (624), Bucknell "B" (642) and Pitt-Johnstown (669).

Four of the five scoring team members fired rounds of two-over par 72 in the afternoon round Monday. Garrett Browning, who is ted for second, separated himself with a 70 in that round. He posted his 72 in the first round and has a 142.

Ryan Prokay is fourth and one stroke back of Browning. He shot a 71 in the morning round and a 72 later in the day. Santiago Mejia shot 72 in both rounds and the 144 has him tied for fifth overall. Matt Gurska, coming off his first collegiate victory last week, is tied for ninth after scores of 73-72=145.

Dan Maier, like most of his teammates, had a second round 72, cutting three strokes from a first round 75. His 147 is tied for 13th. Playing as an individual, Mike McMorrow, playing as an individual, carded rounds of 72 and 76 and is tied for 17th.
