RMU Receives Votes in Final USCHO Poll of Season



Pittsburgh, Pa. - For the 24th and final time in the 2014-15 men's college hockey season, Robert Morris University received votes in the USCHO poll.

The Colonials, who won the Atlantic Hockey Conference regular-season championship and recorded a program-best 24 wins, earned 13 points in the last survey taken by United States College Hockey Online (USCHO.com).

RMU was one of three AHC teams to get a mention in Monday's poll, with playoff champion Rochester Institute of Technology getting the No. 16 ranking and Mercyhurst earning four points.

Published by the Associated Press, the USCHO poll consists of 50 voters, including coaches, beat writers and other sports professionals from across the country. Teams receive 20 points for a first-place vote, 19 for a second-place vote, and so on.

Robert Morris drew votes in all 24 polls this season, earning a top-20 ranking in 15 of those. The Colonials reached an all-time high of 17th in the fall semester, followed by a streak of eight consecutive weeks in the rankings, running from late January to early March. Prior to this season, RMU had never been listed in back-to-back USCHO polls.

Fresh off three straight landmark seasons, the Colonials will being their 12th year of Division I hockey in the fall.
