Colonials to Meet Warriors at Merrimack

RMU carries unbeaten streak into road test at Merrimack

Pittsburgh, Pa. –  With four points on the line and an unbeaten streak to protect, the Robert Morris University women's hockey team travels to Merrimack this weekend for a pair of games on Friday, Oct. 21 at 3 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 22 at 2 p.m.

The Colonials' (4-0-2) record remains unblemished after they defeated and tied the Catamounts of Vermont in 84 Lumber Arena last weekend. Redshirt junior forward Brittany Howard was named College Hockey America (CHA) Player of the Week for the second time this season for her four-point effort in two games versus Vermont. Howard dealt two assists in Friday's 3-2 win, and scored both of RMU's goals in Saturday's 2-2 tie.

Robert Morris is currently receiving votes in two national polls.

Key Notes
Top-line trio Amber Rennie, Brittany Howard and Jaycee Gebhard have combined for 27 points through six games. Only one other forward line in NCAA Division I women's hockey has exceeded that total (No. 4 Minnesota-Duluth; 28). The three have become a force to be reckoned with on the power play, as 13 of those 27 points were produced on the man advantage.

Hot Start
At 4-0-2, the 2016-17 Colonials are off to their best start in program history. They are one of four undefeated teams remaining in NCAA women's hockey. Their unbeaten streak of six games is tied with No. 1 nationally-ranked Wisconsin.

Getting Wise
RMU was elevated from No. 15 last week to No. 3 this week in the Women's Division I PairWise Rankings, a system that attempts to mimic the method used by the NCAA Selection Committee to determine participants for the NCAA Division I women's hockey tournament.

Top Talent
The Colonials rank among the top 10 in scoring offense (t-8th), scoring defense (t-10th), scoring margin (t-9th), power play (6th) and team winning percentage (t-4th).

Freshman Phenom
Freshman forward Jaycee Gebhard leads the Colonials with 10 points, and paces the nation in power-play goals (3), and points per game among rookies (1.67).

National Radar
Robert Morris is currently receiving votes in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll and the USCHO.com Poll.
