Pittsburgh, Pa. – Last weekend, the
Robert Morris University women's hockey team swept a crucial College Hockey America series at home and looks to continue its success against CHA foe and league leader Mercyhurst in a two-game series Friday, Feb. 5 at 7:05 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 6 at 3:05 p.m. at 84 Lumber Arena.
After its recent Skate for the Cure sweep, Robert Morris (14-9-5, 6-4-4) remains in third place in the CHA standings, but now trails second-place Syracuse by a minimal, two-point margin and falls just four points behind the first-place Lakers (12-10-4, 9-3-2).

Robert Morris versus MercyhurstThe Colonials trail in the all-time series with the Lakers, 8-38-2. Earlier this season, RMU dropped one game and tied the other with Mercyhurst. Robert Morris is 3-6-1 in its last 10 meetings with Mercyhurst. Two of the last four matchups between the two CHA programs have gone into overtime.
In the HuntRobert Morris currently ranks third in the CHA standings, but the Colonials are close behind second-place Syracuse and have a chance to close the gap between the Lakers of Mercyhurst this weekend, who lead RMU by four points for first place.
Sharing the WealthIn last Saturday's 3-2 overtime victory against the Lindenwood Lions, nine different Colonials recorded a point in the win.
Season NotablesWith six regular-season games remaining, the 2015-16 Colonials have already made their mark on the season record books. Robert Morris' 232 points (85G-147A) rank third all-time in RMU team season records. The Colonials are on pace to set a new team season record in points per game (currently averaging 8.29). Their 30 power-play goals and 147 assists on the year each rank second in their respective categories. Robert Morris' 14 wins this season rank fourth all time, and its four shutouts tie for second in team season annals.
Among the RanksRMU ranks among the top five in NCAA DI women's hockey in power-play goals (30; 2nd), power-play assists (59; 2nd), penalty kills (104; 2nd), blocked shots (415; 5th) and blocked shots per game (14.82; 6th). RMU boasts a top-10 scoring offense (tenth), power play (fifth), penalty kill (seventh) and combined special teams (eighth).
Moving On UpWith an assist in last Saturday's 3-2 OT win vs. Lindenwood, redshirt sophomore
Brittany Howard improved to fourth all-time in individual career assists (45) at RMU. She is one point shy of tying Kristen Miles (2005-08) and Kelsey Thomas (2009-12) for fifth place in all-time career points.
