Second Player of the Month award for Gibson this season

Pittsburgh, Pa. - Robert Morris University men's hockey senior Greg Gibson has been named the Atlantic Hockey Association player of the month for February.

Gibson led the conference in scoring in the month of February, netting nine goals and tallying eleven points. Gibson and teammate Zac Lynch tied for conference points lead with eleven last month (4 goals, 7 assists). Gibson netted a pair of game-winning goals in February and scored a hat trick in the regular season finale vs. Canisius, capping a five-goal final weekend of the regular season. Gibson averaged a league-best 1.12 goals per game and 1.39 points per game in February, with two power play goals and a shorthanded goal.

Gibson won the conference goal-scoring race for the regular season and is second in the NCAA in goals this season with 28. His 47 points rank second Lynch's 49. The Colonials went 6-2-0 in February.

This is the second monthly conference honor for Gibson, who was player of the month in October, receiving the Hockey Commissioner's Association award that month as well.

The 20th ranked Colonials (21-9-4, 18-6-4 AHC) have a first round bye in the conference playoffs and will host second round action beginning Friday, March 11 at 84 Lumber Arena.
