Sayrafe Named NEC Rookie of the Week

First conference honor for Colonials freshman

Moon Township, Pa. - Robert Morris University women's lacrosse freshman Kerri Sayrafe earns the first honors of her collegiate career, taking home Northeastern Conference Rookie of the Week laurels for her performance in the Colonials win over St. Bonaventure.

Sayrafe recorded her first career hat trick in the Colonials' lone game last week, a 17-10 victory over the Bonnies. The freshman from Massapequa, N.Y. logged the first multi-point game of her career, recording five points on three goals and two assists. Sayrafe scored twice in the first half helping Robert Morris take commanding 9-3 lead in the first half. Sayrafe completed the hat trick with 11:55 left in the contest, extending the Colonials' lead to 13-6.

Sayrafe has started in three games, recording six points, tied for fourth on the team.

Robert Morris travels to Campbell University on Saturday, March 12 for a 12:00pm game in Buies Creek, North Carolina.
