Four-Game Road Swing Opens at Mercyhurst

The No. 7 Colonials meet the Lakers on the road this weekend for a CHA series

Pittsburgh, Pa. Ten games remain in the regular season, and the No. 7 Robert Morris University women's hockey team will take to the road for the next four, beginning with a College Hockey America (CHA) clash with in-state rival Mercyhurst on Friday, Jan. 20 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Jan.  21 at 1 p.m. in the Mercyhurst Ice Center.

RMU (15-2-5, 8-1-1) split a two-game series with Lindenwood last weekend. Friday night's 2-1 defeat marked the Colonials' first regulation setback and second loss on the season (first since Oct. 21), as well as their first conference loss. Robert Morris bounced back on Saturday and topped the Lions, 5-2. Mercyhurst (8-15-1, 4-6-0) enters the weekend following a series split with RIT.

Robert Morris is one of three teams (No. 1 Wisconsin, No. 5 St. Lawrence) in NCAA Division I women's hockey with just two losses on their record this season. The CHA race is tightening as of late, but the Colonials maintain a three point lead over Syracuse, and an eight-point advantage over third-place Penn State.
