Pittsburgh, Pa. –
The top two squads in the College Hockey America (CHA) standings will go head-to-head this weekend, as the No. 7
Robert Morris University women's hockey team heads to Syracuse for a two-game series on Friday, Jan. 27 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 28 at 3 p.m. in Tennity Ice Pavilion.
Last weekend, Robert Morris (16-2-6, 9-1-2) earned three points toward the CHA rankings with a 2-1 overtime win and a 3-3 overtime tie at Mercyhurst. Friday night's 2-1 victory marked the Colonials' first overtime win this season. Six different Colonials contributed points to Saturday's 3-3 draw. Syracuse (9-10-5, 8-2-2) enters the weekend following a sweep of Lindenwood. The Orange allowed zero goals through two games against the Lions.
Robert Morris is one of just two remaining teams (No. 1 Wisconsin) in NCAA Division I women's hockey with only two losses this season. Four points are on the line this weekend, and all four would be crucial for the Colonials to capture. RMU maintains a slim, two-point lead over Syracuse, and a six-point edge over third-place Penn State.
