Moon Township, Pa. – The
Robert Morris University men's basketball team will have a pair of games featured on the
Northeast Conference television schedule this season, it was announced by the league Wednesday.
RMU opens the slate when it hosts Saint Francis U at PPG Paints Arena for a 7:00 p.m. tip in a game that will be seen live on ESPN3. The Colonials will also be featured on national television Thursday, Feb. 22, with a 7:00 p.m. tip against Mount St. Mary's at Knott Arena in Emmitsburg, Md., that can be seen live on the CBS Sports Network.
The pair of games is part of a 27-game television package for the NEC in 2017-18, an all-time high for national exposure across the ESPN and CBS platforms. ESPN3 will carry 18 games this season, all of which will air on NEC Front Row. CBS Sports Network will carry five nationally-televised NEC contests, a record high for the conference.
Entering his 18th season in 2017-18, Dave Popkin will serve as the primary play-by-play announcer for broadcasts, with Paul Dottino (19th year) and John Schmeelk (seventh year) filling in. Tim Capstraw (19th year), Terry O'Connor (16th year) and Joe DeSantis (11th year) will split color analyst duties.

In seven seasons under head coach
Andrew Toole, Robert Morris has compiled an overall record of 134-106 (.558), including a mark of 82-42 (.661) against NEC opponents. Toole has guided the Colonials to a pair of NEC regular-season crowns (2013, 2014) as well as the 2015 NEC Tournament title.
Over the last 10 seasons, RMU has posted an overall record of 207-137 (.602) and has appeared in the NCAA Tournament three times (2009, 2010, 2015), the NIT on three occasions (2008, 2013, 2014) and the 2012 CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament.
Robert Morris opens its 2017-18 schedule Monday, Oct. 30, with a 7:00 p.m. exhibition game against St. Vincent in Latrobe, Pa., at the Carey Center. The regular-season tips off Friday, Nov. 10, with a 7:00 p.m. tip at Ohio State.
