Moon Township, Pa. – For the second consecutive year,
Rachel Boody of the
Robert Morris University track & field team earned All-East Coast status after finishing second in the discus at the 2017 ECAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships Friday in Princeton, N.J.
In what has been a banner year for the senior in the event, Boody posted a toss of 49.62 meters (162'9") to earn silver. Michelle Wallerstedt of George Mason claimed the ECAC individual title courtesy of a throw of 53.16 meters (174'5").

Rounding out the top eight in the discus was Sarah Hillman of Delaware (48.80 meters), Linda Bengston of Manhattan (46.41), Maura Kimmel of Penn (46.18), Duquesne's Mercedes Oliver (46.08), Decoda Simpson of Fairleigh Dickinson (45.29) and Taylor Baker of Cornell (43.76).
Boody's distance breaks her own school record, and she now owns each of the top five marks in school history in the discus. She also owns six of the top 10 marks in program history. Boody finished
third in the discus at the 2016 ECAC Championships to earn All-East Coast plaudits for the first time.
The ECAC Championships continue Saturday, May 13, and conclude Sunday, May 14.
