Lilly Harnish of the
Robert Morris University outdoor track & field team was named the Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week Tuesday.
Harnish is in her first season competing in outdoor track & field after missing the 2016 campaign due to injury and in her first action of 2017 charged right to top of the NEC leaderboard in the triple jump.
At the Red Flash Open (4/29), Harnish earned silver with a leap of 12.05 meters (39'6.5"). In addition to qualifying for the ECAC Championships in the event, the distance ranks third all-time in program history.

Harnish enters the 2017 NEC Outdoor Track & Field Championships this weekend in Emmitsburg, Md., with a 27-centimeter lead in the triple jump over Stephanie Esogenwune of LIU Brooklyn, who was crowned the 2017 NEC indoor champion.
The 2017 NEC Outdoor Track & Field Championships take place Saturday, May 6, and Sunday, May 7.
