Westlake, Ohio – The Robert Morris University men's golf team sits in seventh place after two rounds of the Tom Tontimonia Invitational, hosted by Cleveland State.
Held at the par-71, 7,104-yard Lakewood Country Club, Robert Morris fired a seven-over 291 over the first 18 holes before finishing the day with an 18-over 302. Oakland leads the 11-team field with a one-over 569, followed by the host Vikings (578, +10), and Dayton (581, +13).

Max Palmer led the way for the Colonials, firing a four-over 146 to sit in a tie for 17th. Palmer shaved two strokes from his first round total of 74 (+3), carding 15 pars and a birdie over the second 18 holes. The junior's 15 pars were tied for the most in the second round.
Kyle Grube and Chase Miller are part of a deadlock for 22nd with totals of six-over 148. The duo each started their days with an even-par 71 before closing with a six-over 77. Both players managed to card three birdies in the first round, with Grube edging Miller in pars, 13 to 12.
David Szymanski and Bryce Gorrell rounded out RMU's five, posting respective two-round totals of 10-over 152 and 11-over 153. Szymanski registered a pair of five-over 76s on the afternoon, while Gorrell opened the day with a four-over 75.
Nicholas Mihalo made his season debut as an individual, shooting a 10-over 152 over two rounds. Mihalo's second round was his highlight of the day as he fired a four-over 75, trimming a pair of strokes from his first-round total.
Robert Morris concludes play at the Tom Tontimonia Invitational tomorrow, beginning with a 9:15 a.m. shotgun start.
