Pittsburgh, Pa. - Robert Morris University men's hockey all-time leading scorer
Brady Ferguson has signed an amateur tryout agreement (ATO) with the Toronto Marlies, the AHL affiliate of the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs.
Ferguson, a forward, set the Robert Morris all-time scoring record with 167 career points, capping off his senior season tied for third all-time with 66 goals. Ferguson is the all-time assists leader at RMU with 101 helpers, and played in 152 games, tied for second-most in RMU program history
The Carrollton, Texas native exits as the NCAA's active leading career scorer with 167 career points, averaging 1.10 points per game for his career. Ferguson ranked 6th in the NCAA in scoring as a senior, finishing atop Atlantic Hockey with 49 points.
An alternate captain, Ferguson led Robert Morris in scoring during the 2017-18 campaign with 18 goals, 31 assists and 49 points in 41 games, and was named an Atlantic Hockey first team all-conference selection, as well as being named to the Atlantic Hockey all-tournament team, scoring a hat trick in the tournament semifinal game.
Ferguson was also the NCAA's leader in faceoff wins with 598 and a .573 faceoff percentage (598-445).
As a junior, Ferguson set RMU single-season scoring record with 58 points his junior season. En route to doing so, he also set the RMU record for most points in a single game with 6, scoring a hat trick and dishing three assists in a 6-5 win over RIT on October 8, 2016
Ferguson was a member of the Colonials squads that won a pair of regular season Atlantic Hockey titles and made three consecutive appearances in the conference tournament championship game.
A two-time Hobey Baker Nominee, Ferguson is a top ten finalist for the Senior CLASS Award, given to a senior who exemplifies excellence in community, classroom, character and competition.
Ferguson joins the more than 60 Colonials to join the professional hockey ranks, and has already joined the Marlies squad in Toronto.
