Moon Township, Pa. – The
Robert Morris University rowing team will host its first home regatta since 2009 Saturday by hosting the Yinzer Cup at the McPhail Boathouse on Neville Island. The regatta features Canisius, George Mason, Marietta and West Virginia.
"The first home regatta since the McPhail Boathouse was built is a huge step forward for our program," head coach
Nelle Stahura said. "Hosting a quality regatta with solid competitors is something we've dreamt of since the McPhail Boathouse was built. I'm thrilled to provide our exceptional student-athletes with an opportunity to race on their own home course in front of their own home crowd."
The regatta starts at 10:00 a.m. with the Novice Fours and will also feature action in Varsity Four, Doubles/Pairs, Novice Eights and Varsity Eights.
RMU hasn't hosted a home regatta in almost 10 years, as the last time the Colonials were able to host an event was the Robert Morris Regatta Oct. 24, 2009.

"We went from rowing off of blocks outdoors to having our own boathouse, which was a huge stepping stone for the program and allowed so much more opportunity," senior
Kestra Harris said. "To watch our program grow to the place where we're hosting a home regatta is truly amazing. We're extremely happy to have the ability to do this, especially during our senior year. Being a senior is bittersweet, but hosting this regatta is one of those sweet moments. We're excited to race and represent RMU on our own home course."
The Yinzer Cup marks the second event of the 2019 fall season for RMU, with the Colonials earning
